After a long time time to resist a significant price drop, the Asus Zenbook S 16 has eventually dropped to $1,000which is $500 off its retail price.

It’s normal for laptops to drop in price towards the end of their lifespan, around the time an update comes out. But the Asus Zenbook S 16 continues. To be fair, it’s a pretty high end Windows laptopone of the prettiest that came out last year. It is sleek, portable, and has a beautiful design. It even gets great battery life, just like a MacBook. Speaking of MacBooks, this Zenbook is the laptop I see tech journalists take with them more than anything else. Given how much technology they’re exploring, that’s an endorsement.

But the S 16 is always hard for me to recommend when the cheapest model available is $1,500. I was always on the lookout for a more significant price drop, but it never dropped more than a hundred dollars. And although it always comes with 24 GB of RAM and a terabyte of storage, the price is a tough pill to swallow. Well, the day has finally arrived. it now under $1,000 at Best Buy as part of the store’s Presidents’ Day sale. That’s an amazing price for this great laptop.

The previously mentioned memory and storage are still available here, along with a 2880 x 1800 OLED display with a 120-Hz refresh rate. This laptop basically has every high-end feature you can imagine, but one of my favorite aspects is the ports. Despite the thin profile, the S 16 keeps all the legacy ports you want, including HDMI, USB-A, and even a full-size SD card slot.

There is also a smaller, 14-inch model, but its discount is not as strong as the 16-inch model. it up to $1,300 todaywhich is still a solid price for this configuration.

I have to say that Asus has an update in the works for 2026 with the latest Intel chipsbut it only comes in the 14-inch model. I’m not going to lie: Based on my testing, these CPUs make a big difference in performance—especially on the graphics front. But I have a feeling that Asus will sell this device for a higher price for a longer time, especially with the recent development of the lack of memory.

While the Zenbook S 16 is the best deal on Best Buy for its Presidents’ Day saleI would also recommend the Asus Zephyrus G14, which is also $500 off. This configuration has a powerful RTX 5070 Ti graphics card and one of our favorite gaming laptop.
