Gunners keen to sign new striker
Manchester City kept the pressure on the Gunners with a late victory at Anfield on Sunday, with Erling Haaland scoring the winner from the penalty spot. Roy Keane The implications could be significant at the end of the season.
Keane said: “That’s over three points. Mentally it’s a big boost – and a big blow for Arsenal. They were still ahead but to see City go down a goal… and then they get three points, it’s huge.”
and Mikel ArtetaThere is certainly no reason to panic with the team still six points clear at the top of the table, but City’s experience in these situations could serve them well, having won six Premier League titles during the Guardiola era.
The north Londoners invested heavily last summer to strengthen their front line with the signings of Noni Madduk and Victor Jakores, with the latter scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Sunderland at the weekend to bolster their title aspirations.
However, Arsenal are still keen to strengthen their forward options and they have now entered a signing race, according to Caught Offside Everton star Iliman NdiayeWhile competition is likely to be fierce, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen.
Not only that, but the Toffees will insist on paying a huge transfer fee, with David Moyes’ side hoping to receive €65m-€75m (£57m-£65m), so the Gunners will have to spend big to get the deal done.
N’Diaye is contracted until 2029 and Everton hold all the cards, but if Arteta’s side can finally get a deal done he could prove to be an excellent addition to the squad…

Arsenal have plenty of options in the forward area though, with Maduk proving his worth with a goal and an assist in the 4-0 win over Leeds United at the end of January.
So while N’diaye may have the talent to shine at the Emirates Stadium, the Everton star may not be a necessary addition to Arteta’s side unless anyone leaves.
