Arsenal confirm Gabriel Jesus’ injury diagnosis


Arsenal have confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has suffered an ACL tear an injury During the Gunners’ FA Cup defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

The striker was stretchered off in the first half of the defeat and immediately sparked concern in the Arsenal dugout as he was in significant pain, with manager Mikel Arteta describing the issue as a “major concern”.

“In addition to being substituted during our match against Manchester United on Sunday, Gabriel Jesus has undergone extensive assessments, scans and specialist reviews which have confirmed that he has injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” read a club statement.

“Gabby will undergo surgery in the coming days and will soon begin her recovery and rehabilitation program.

“We will continue to keep everyone updated with Gabby’s recovery, with everyone at the club fully focused on supporting Gabby to ensure he returns to full fitness as soon as possible.”

Armory No time frame has been set for Jesus’ return, but such injuries typically require nine months of rehabilitation, meaning he will not return to action until late 2025.

Jesus’ injury could force Arsenal into the transfer market in January but would also deal a major blow to their reported plans to sell the Brazilian in the summer. Jesus is under contract with the club until 2027.
