Anthony Joshua Says he will be ready to kill Jack Paul When they meet on Friday.
The fight against the two-time former world heavyweight champion, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, has come in for heavy criticism, with many claiming it was a mismatch that put Paul’s safety at risk.
Asked if there was a part of him ready to go easy on the American, Joshua told reporters: “There’s a zero part of me. It’s not just Jack. I was really looking at myself today, I’m a very respectable person raised by a good family. But if I can kill you, I’ll kill you.
“This is who I am and this is what I do, so come on.
“I’m taking boxing on my back, I did it with the Francis Ngannou fight and I’m doing it again.
“I understand the expectation, I don’t carry it because the expectation on myself is enough but I accept it, I understand it and I respect it.”
Trust Paul to cause a massive upset
Paul has won 12 of his previous 13 professional bouts but has yet to step into the ring with someone of Joshua’s size and stature.
Joshua added, “I’ve got to give him (Paul) respect, because I’m ready.
Paul is confident he can spring what he describes as ‘the biggest upset in sports history’.
“One of us is sleeping. That’s what we’re going to do here,” he said. “That’s what this heavyweight fight is about. All the glory to God. Thank you God, thank you Jesus for this moment. I’m so thankful for everybody.
“I started my boxing journey here in Miami. We’re bringing it back and I’m going to shock the world and pull off the biggest upset in the history of the sport.”
