In a shocking incident in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, a woman of Yendagandi village, Undi Mandal, was horrified after receiving a package containing the body of an unidentified individual.
According to IANS reports, the recipient, Naga Tulsi, had approached the Kshatriya Seva Samithi for financial help to build her house. In response, the organization had initially sent its tiles for the project.
Tulsi subsequently sought additional help and was assured of receiving electrical appliances such as lights, fans and switches. He even received a confirmation via WhatsApp, indicating that these items would arrive.
On Thursday evening, a package arrived at Naga Tulsi’s house, delivered by a person who claimed it contained the promised electrical appliances. However, upon opening the package, Tulsi was horrified to find the body of a man inside.
Shocked by the discovery, his family quickly alerted the police. Authorities quickly reached the scene, started an investigation and sent the body to a government hospital for an autopsy.
A letter inside the package demanded Rs 1.30 crore, warning the family of dire consequences if the amount was not paid.
District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi visited the village to personally supervise the case. Authorities are working to trace the person who delivered the package and have summoned representatives of the Kshatriya Seva Samithi for questioning.
Initial police findings revealed that the body, belonging to a man aged around 45, showed signs of having been dead for 4-5 days. Investigators are looking into the possibility of foul play and checking missing person reports from nearby police jurisdictions. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
