Ahmed Shehzad slams PSL

Ahmed Shehzad took to social media to explain his decision to withdraw from the upcoming PSL season. He accused the league of prioritizing deeper connections rather than finding players with real talent. Shehzad further claimed that he did not sign up for PSL 2025 and said that he had broken up last year.

“My decision to leave the PSL stemmed from a lack of merit and prioritizing connections over real talent. I did not sign up for PSL 10 and publicly parted ways with the league last year,” Shehzad posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Shehzad further mentioned on X that the PSL organizers wanted him to participate to revive the PSL. But he wants to fight against the injustice done by certain cricketers and wants to stay there till the end.

“They want me to be part of a league that is declining every year, looking for players who can revive it, but without the guarantee of the merits of this league I’m not interested. I represent those who are overlooked and will continue to do that for us I will not relent in my fight for justice in this sport and will persevere to the end,” he added.

PSL 2025 Draft Dates

Despite Ahmed Shehzad claiming that he has not signed up for PSL 2025, his name has been included in the gold category among homegrown players in the draft. The PSL 2025 draft will be held on January 13 in Lahore.

The PSL matches were postponed as the Champions Trophy was to be played in Pakistan. The league is likely to overlap with the IPL, making it less conducive to big foreign players. The 2025 Champions Trophy will be played between Pakistan and UAE on February 19.
