Two days ago, luxury hotel suites in Delhi were touching Rs 30 lakh for a single night. Today, for the peak dates of the India-AI Impact Summit, several prime properties have little or no inventory left, even at these high levels.

A new scan on February 12 shows that at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, the only category available for February 18 and 19 is a Taj Club King Suite with Forest and Pool View starting at Rs 3,51,000. All other room types are sold out.

There are no rooms available at The Oberoi, New Delhi on February 18-19.

The squeeze comes days after summit week prices surged into seven figures at prime properties as the city prepares to host the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam from February 16-20.

The Rs 30 lakh hike that preceded the sale

On February 10, head-to-head comparisons of websites between February 18-19 (the week of the summit) and February 25-26 (a week later) showed a dramatic divergence.

At the Taj Palace:

• 2-Bed Garden Presidential Suite with Pool View: Rs 3,20,000 (Feb 25-26) Vs. Rs 30,00,000 (February 18-19)

• Deluxe King Suite with Garden Pool View and Private Terrace: Rs 1,70,000 (Feb 25-26) Vs. 25,000,000 (from February 18 to 19)

At the Oberoi:

• Deluxe Suite: Rs 4,00,000 (February 25-26) vs Rs 25,00,000 (February 18-19)

• Room assigned on arrival: Rs 85,000 (February 25-26) vs Rs 5,50,000 (February 18-19)

The pattern was clear: while late February prices remained in high but familiar luxury bands, peak week rates rose to an entirely different level.

A twist: Selective price fixes at The Leela Palace

While some hotels have indeed sold out, The Leela Palace, New Delhi paints a more nuanced picture: an aggressive revaluation followed by a selective correction.

Search February 10, 2026:

• Deluxe Suite: Rs 1,80,500 (February 25-26) vs Rs 17,30,500 (February 18-19)

In other words, while summit week prices remain significantly elevated relative to normal dates, some categories have revalued lower compared to the February 10 peak.

However, the fit comes with narrower availability.

Demand shock, now in its second phase

The initial surge was driven by concentrated, high-profile demand linked to international delegates, policymakers and technology leaders arriving at the summit. The travel industry openly linked the price shock to the event.

What is now visible is the next stage of this demand curve.

• First, aggressive repricing as availability tightened.

• Then partial absorption of top tier inventory.

• Now, on some properties, a mix of out-of-stock categories and tactical recalibration of price.
