Dennis Quaid proudly supports the president Donald Trumpside.
The A-lister briefly took the stage to express his gratitude at the president’s public event in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Friday. Trump was in Texas to talk about energy and economic priorities, highlighting themes from his recent State of the Union address.
“We have an actor. He’s one of the best actors in America,” Trump said on stage. “Hey Dennis. Come here, Dennis, come here.”

Earlier in the day, Senator Ted Cruz and shared the news that Quaid flew to Texas on Air Force One with the president.
“Going to Texas with Trump on AF1 with the great Dennis Quaid (@reaganthemovie)!” Cruz wrote alongside a photo of himself and Quaid.
While on the boat, Cruz posted a video of Quaid sitting next to Trump. Cruz asked Quaid to imitate a conversation between Ronald Reagan (who he plays in the biopic) and Trump.
“Two great American presidents had a historic conversation on AF1…” Cruz captioned the video.
Quaid has always been a fan of Trump and made his Political Views Clear. Just earlier this month, the “Reagan” star commented on how much politics has changed in recent years. After appearing in “The Greg Lowry Show,” Quaid made his stance on politics clear.

“Now things have become so extreme, so serious,” Lowry said while speaking to Quaid. “I saw a podcast—it was Bill Maher And Dana Carvey, I forget the name of the other guy – but anyway, I think it was Dana Carvey who said, ‘I told my friends in Hollywood that I was a Clinton Democrat, and some of them now call me a Nazi. ‘”
“You can’t do that,” Quaid said, comparing being a Clinton Democrat to “right-wing neoconservatives or whatever. What it used to be, you can’t be anymore.”

The actor later described himself as a “common sense independent,” although he said he tends to be “more conservative in my mind.”
“I’m just using common sense, that’s who I am,” Quaid said.

Later in the podcast, Laurie asked Quaid if he would like to spend time with the president Donald Trump.
He called Trump “amazingly approachable, very funny, and very genuine. If he wasn’t genuine, he wouldn’t be president because the people who voted for him know he has their best interests at heart.”
