NBA writer Tom Haberstroh said Los Angeles Lakers We should part ways Austin Reeves. Haberstroh’s reasoning is that the Lakers need to address their defensive woes. Reeves’ Big Three, LeBron James and Luka Doncic They focused primarily on the offensive end, emphasizing their need to improve on the other end.
Haberstroh said dismantling the Big Three could be key to building a championship contender for the Lakers around Doncic. However, former NBA player Lou Williams disagreed with the reporter’s statement. During an appearance on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” on Tuesday, Williams expressed his strong opposition to Los Angeles’ proposed roster changes.
Thanks for your submission!
“God willing, if someone goes down, he’s going to show you that he can be that guy to step up for you offensively,” Williams said. If Austin Reeves is the one holding you back defensively, then we have to talk about Luka holding you back defensively as well.

“If we’re saying this is a defensive argument and Austin Reeves is the guy that’s stopping Luka from winning the championship, I don’t know about that.”
Williams’ co-host Michelle Beadle scoffed at the suggestion that the Lakers’ big three refused to accept defensive challenges.
“Los Angeles has a three-headed monster that doesn’t like to play defense right now,” Biddle said.
While Reeves isn’t the Lakers’ best defensive player, he makes up for it with his play on the other end. In 23 games, the undrafted guard averaged 26.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists. He has a chance to be an All-Star this season.
Eddie Johnson points to Lakers defensive woes stemming from Austin Reeves, Luka Doncic
Former NBA player Eddie Johnson believes the Lakers’ problem lies with Austin Reeves and Luka Doncic, not LeBron James. Johnson mentioned on “The X” that much of the blame lies with the four-time champion.
The former Phoenix Suns player pointed out that Doncic tends to complain to the referees instead of fighting back defensively. He also said Reeves’ lack of defensive toughness is not James’ problem.
Johnson responded to coach Redick’s interview. The former NBA player explained that the Lakers have been struggling since James returned from injury. That’s fueled the notion that the four-time MVP is the source of much of Los Angeles’ defensive problems.
“About to blow up in LA and it keeps going. 👀🍿” Johnson posted.
Despite their defensive issues, the Lakers are 20-10 this season. Their performance was impressive amid the many missteps the team needed to address.
