At Sony State of the Game yesterday, developer Nomada Studio revealed a DLC prequel in his beautiful and award-winning puzzle platformer Neva. Simple title Neva: Prologueit tells the story of how Alba and her wolf companion Neva met, while introducing new gameplay mechanics, locales and challenges.
“In Neva: ProloguePlayers follow Alba as she chases a trail of white butterflies deep in the rotten swamps, only to discover a frightened wolf cub, lost and alone,” writes Nomada. “To survive, Alba must gain the cub’s trust and guide them both through the blighted wetlands and the dark forces that haunt them.”
The developer added that Neva: Prologue designed to be experienced after completing the main game. It adds three new locations, “each with unique gameplay mechanics, along with new enemies and intense boss encounters.” Completionists will also get five hidden challenge flowers.
To her review of the original game, Engadget’s Jessica Conditt found Neva to be “flawless” thanks to the beautiful swordplay and intuitive platforming action, along with the “stunning” world comprised of “lush forests, sun-drenched valleys, towering mountains and winding cave systems.” Neva: Prologue will be released as a standalone DLC on February 19.
