Rory McIlroy mocks Charles Barkley’s weight during match with LIV golf stars


Rory McIlroy and Charles Barkley had some fun banter as the Northern Irishman took to the field. “Showdown” golf tournament Scottie Scheffler takes on LIV golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

As McIlroy walked onto the fairway, Barkley asked him how much he had eaten in a round. McIlroy was eating an energy bar while the Basketball Hall of Famer chatted with him.

“Not as good as you Chuck,” McIlroy shot back.

Buckley smiled and replied that he was on a diet.

Regardless, the former Philadelphia 76ers star admitted to taking Mounjaro to help him lose weight and treat type 2 diabetes. Mounjaro is the brand name for tisiparatide, which helps with weight loss by suppressing appetite and improving the way the body breaks down sugar and fat.

“I started at 352 pounds and now I’m down to 290 pounds,” Barkley Already said before. “I started to feel like a normal person and not a fat person anymore.”

McIlroy and Scheffler ultimately beat their life golf Peers. They only needed 14 holes to do it.

The format is one point for six-hole fourball matches, one point for six-hole foursomes, and one point for each of the final six holes of singles.

“I would love to have another chance,” DeChambeau said. “It was kind of like a pillow fight for us.”
