Sialkot Stallionz killed ahead of PSL 2026, Multan Sultans return amid massive chaos


Even before entering their first season in the PSL, the newly purchased team Sialkot Stallionz underwent a major change in ownership and were renamed Multan Sultans by one of Ali Tareen’s closest friends.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is going through some big changes as their former team Multan Sultan is about to lose their qualification due to a conflict between the owners and the PCB. However, the PSL draft also includes two new teams.

Sialkot Stallionz were originally one of the new teams in the PSL for the upcoming season, but now they have undergone huge changes. Hyderabad Kings are another team for the next season.

Sialkot Stallionz’s end in PSL as new CEO brings back Multan Sultans

Among the many cities shortlisted for the franchise are Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, Faisalabad, Hyderabad and Sialkot, only the last two were selected for the franchise. Stallionz was purchased by OZ Developers at a franchise auction held on January 8.

Shortly after, the Stallions underwent a major change of ownership. CD Ventures has reportedly struck a deal with OZ developers and taken over the franchise, renaming it Multan Sultans.

Gohar Shah of CD Ventures will serve as the new CEO of the newly renamed team Multan Sultans.

Sialkot Stallionz’s journey in PSL

Sialkot Stallions’ journey began with OZ Group acquiring the franchise on January 8 for PKR 1.85 billion. However, Sialkot’s hopes were dashed even before the team made its debut.

On March 3, they announced that CD Ventures had acquired Sialkot with a huge bid of PKR 2 billion and renamed it Multan Sultan. Therefore, this marks the end of Stallionz’s journey in PSL.

The new CEO of Multan Sultans has expressed his appreciation for the former owners of Multan Sultans and acknowledged the significant impact Tallinn Group had on the development of PSL and cricket in Pakistan.

He assured that they will seek to continue this legacy further and his friend Ali Tareen is always welcome to attend the matches.

“Taleen Group has rendered a lot of services to Pakistan cricket and Pakistan Cricket League. Our aim is to take the team forward. Ali Tareen is my friend and everyone is welcome to watch the match in Multan,” he said.
