Scars of Kosmora will be out later this year


When it launches in 2021, Kena: Bridge of Spirits an early example of PS5’s graphical power thanks to Pixar-adjacent animation and over-the-top effects. Based on a surprise trailer for Sony’s latest State of the Gameit seems like a series, Kena: Reports of Kosmoracould up the ante when it launches later this year.

Wounds of Kosmora follows the spirit guide Kena to a mysterious island called Kosmora, where a powerful spirit breaks his staff and forces him to embrace a new style of spirit guidance (and possibly a collection of new game mechanics). Like the first game, Wounds of Kosmora looks filled with lush visuals and cute Spirit Companions, but also a surprising number of boss fights. Developer Ember Lab’s new trailer highlights the game’s updated combat, which looks like it will play a big role in the sequel.

According to a PlayStation Blog postit seems that manipulating the elements can also be a major goal. “We’ve added new elemental gameplay to bring strategy and depth to dealing with the threats of Kosmora,” said developer Ember Lab. “These new combat skills, elemental infusions and using your Spirit Companions will be the key to conquering challenging encounters and epic boss battles.”

Kena: Reports of Kosmora coming to PlayStation 5 and PC in 2026.
