Haitian youth caught up in gang violence




Haiti has descended into months of chaos, with widespread gang violence forcing thousands to flee. Unfortunately, many have lost their lives, and instability has allowed gangs to increasingly recruit children—UNICEF reports an alarming increase of over 200%. Antoine Ghazalay, child protection specialist with UNICEF in Haiti, joined FRANCE 24 to explain the situation and how this disturbing trend became possible.
