Kim is seeking a third consecutive gold medal in the women’s halfpipe and will become the first skier to achieve that goal. Legendary American skier Shaun White won three gold medals in the event, but in consecutive Olympic Games.

“I’m just going to do what I came here to do and if they decide to give it to me, that would be awesome,” Kim said via NBC News.

“But I’m really grateful to be able to win all of these events multiple times. The fact that I’m able to ride here and stay confident is all I can ask for.”
