SoftBank Vision Fund earns $2.4 billion from bet on OpenAI

Softbank Its Vision Fund made $2.4 billion in the fourth quarter of last year, and a sharp rise in the value of its OpenAI investment helped offset losses on some other investments.

SoftBank, through Vision Fund, invests in artificial intelligence companies it believes will be category winners, seeking position yourself in the center technological development.

This roughly includes Investment of US$40 billion ChatGPT developer OpenAI serves as one of its core companies. One of SoftBank’s other key bets is chip design company arm Investments span everything from robotics to self-driving cars.

SoftBank shares surged this week on strong results from its telecom unit and Arm shares rise.
