Although the original series doing so muchNetflix will squeeze as much juice out of Stranger Things as possible. The company is said to film on Broadway production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow so it can offer a recording on its streaming service.
Several public performances were canceled this week to accommodate the filming, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They will resume on February 15. Filming will take place before the original Broadway cast leaves the production next month.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow opened in New York City last year after debut in London in 2023. It was a critical and commercial success, and it won several Tony Awards. The game is a canonical prequel to the Stranger Things and it fills in more of the backstory of Henry Creel, who became Vecna. The final season of the show also dug into his past.
Netflix has not yet indicated when it will begin streaming a recording of the game. It will inevitably happen at some point, though. Netflix is busy expanding the Stranger Things universe with spin-off shows, such as animated series Stranger Things: Stories From ’85 (which will will begin streaming on April 23). A documentary that shows how Stranger Things: The First Shadow was a hit on the streaming service last year.
