Serious legal case throws Dayal’s career into trouble
Dayal is currently dealing with a serious legal case which has put his career on hold. He is involved in two separate criminal cases with significant allegations. One of the cases involved a woman who accused him of emotionally and financially cheating on her during a long-term relationship of approximately five years.
The woman alleged that the RCB bowler had promised to marry her but did not keep his promise. The case has been registered under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. However, the Allahabad High Court stayed his arrest saying there were doubts about the credibility of the complaint.
Another serious case has been reported in Jaipur. A 17-year-old girl accused Dayal of sexual assault between 2023 and 2024. She alleged that Dayal had misled her by helping her in her cricket journey. Since the complaint involved a minor, charges were filed under the POCSO Act.
However, the Rajasthan High Court last month granted anticipatory bail to Dayal in the Jaipur case. Currently, two cases are still pending and investigations are ongoing.
UP League, RCB eye replacement prohibited
As the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has banned him from participating in the UP T20 league. He has not played any professional matches since RCB lifted the IPL trophy last year.
With so much uncertainty, RCB is reportedly exploring other options. According to reports, the team management is considering bringing in experienced pacer Umesh Yadav in case Dayal is unavailable for IPL 2026.
They have also added fast bowler Mangesh Yadav as a replacement. Now, Dayal’s absence from the Royal Challengers Bangalore training camp due to ongoing investigations in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan has increased doubts over his availability next season.
Dayal’s career numbers
Talking about his career, Dayal took 41 wickets in 43 games, among which his best performance was taking 3 wickets for 20 runs. In T20 cricket, he took 66 wickets in 71 games. In first-class matches, Dayal took 84 wickets at an average of 28.79. The fast bowler also took 36 wickets in 23 Group A matches.
