Former professional footballer to take part in charity event supported by Tony Bellew and David Price



Former world champion Tony Bellew and former heavyweight world title challenger David Price will support a charity boxing event, with the former footballer taking to the ring at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel on April 17.

Organized by Pro Project Promotions and started by former Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack, the scheme aims to provide retired players with updated structure and purpose while raising significant funds for good causes. The first event raised £127,500organizers are now targeting more than £120,000 Merseyside children’s charity and Autism Merseyside. In this event called “A Night to Remember II”, Stark said:

“The city will be buzzing with energy during the Merseyside derby weekend and I can’t wait to showcase 10 former professional footballers once again battling it out in the ring. The event will feature a mix of Scouse boxers and other northern boxers. We will have some of the best boxers this country has ever seen taking part including Tony Bellew, The Smith Brothers, David Price and Natasha Jonas.

“Johnny Nelson will host a boxing Q&A and will referee alongside Steve Bunce, refereed by Ian St John. Additionally, our ambassador, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, and Everton legend Francis Jeffers will host a football Q&A. We are raising funds for Merseyside and autistic children’s charities and we are aiming to raise over £120,000 and get closer to our target of £500,000.”

Bellew and Price will be in attendance along with Natasha Jonas and the Smith Brothers to provide guidance and add boxing pedigree to the event.

The card sees former Stoke City, Wolves and Burnley striker Chris Iwerumo take on Swansea favorite Lee Trundle, while former Wolves goalkeeper Karl Ikeme takes on former QPR and Blackburn defender Bradley Orr. Former Leeds United, Fulham and Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack will also face former Leeds United and Sheffield United defender Matthew Kilgallon.

At White Collar, former pros will once again test their physical prowess, this time swapping boots for boxing gloves with a focus on fundraising and community impact. The event is open to fans and ticket details are available by organizer.
