The 2026 Winter Olympics are taking an unexpected turn as Norwegian biathlete Sturla Holm Lægreid makes an unusual confession about her personal life. Leglade is a platform for athletes to express content and celebrate victories, and he uses it to express his regrets and take responsibility for his mistakes.

Leglade won his second Olympic medal on Tuesday, February 10, when he won bronze in the men’s 20km biathlon event at the Winter Olympics in Italy. However, in a live interview with NRK, he ignored this prestigious feat and admitted to being unfaithful to his partner after an affair.

He stressed that this has been the hardest week of his life since he admitted to his girlfriend. The 27-year-old said she wanted to share the moment, without which the podium victory felt incomplete.

“I want to share something with people who may not be watching today,” he said. “Six months ago I met the love of my life. The most beautiful, nicest person in the world. Three months ago I made the mistake of my life and cheated on her, and a week ago I told her about it. This has been the worst week of my life.”

“I have the gold medal in my life and I’m sure a lot of people will see it differently, but I only focus on her. In recent days, sport has taken a back seat. Yes, I wish I could share that with her.”

Leglade has chosen not to reveal his partner’s identity while hoping things work out.

“I don’t want to reveal who it is. She’s had enough after last week, but I hope we can both see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully she will continue to love me.” (via theguardian.com)

The event was dominated by Sturla Holm Lægreid’s teammate Johan-Olav Botn.

Sturla Holm Lægreid has admitted using a motivational video sent by the club ahead of Tuesday’s match. He also talked about being a good example of admitting mistakes.

“I tried to be a good role model but I did something stupid. I received a great video from the club at home and I used it as motivation today. As I said, I want to be a good role model but I have to admit when I do something wrong. When you do something you can’t stand and hurt someone you love deeply, you have to admit.” (via livemint.com)
