U.S. Olympic bobsledder Jasmine Jones competes in her race first ever olympics In Cortina, Milan.

As a mother of five and an Air Force member, the pride of representing America takes her game “to a different level.”

“I feel like being able to represent my country, and being an athlete for my country, it definitely brings a different meaning and a different level. I feel like very few people get to do both, and I’m honored to have this opportunity to represent both of those things. I’m grateful to be a pilot and to represent my country in that regard,” Jones told Fox News Digital.

“It definitely ties them together and brings a different meaning and a lot more to what I have to give.”

Jones narrowly missed qualifying for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. As a result, she joined the Air Force in April 2023, which allowed her to undergo more rigorous daily training, which she believes will equip her to compete in this year’s competition.

“I’m so grateful to be a pilot,” she said. “Coming into the WCAT program, it allowed me to really do the offseason training that allowed me to get to this point…Through the offseason training, I was able to really focus and put in the work, and that’s what happened in this moment.”

Jones, who gave birth to a daughter in 2021, is seeking stability in her life to achieve her goal of making it to the Olympics. The Air Force gave her that path.

“I wanted to do something that would give me more stability, and for a while I was doing civilian work and trying to train at the same time, but it wasn’t enough. I knew I wanted to spend my time on the sled,” Jones said.

“The biggest thing I’ve learned is to be resilient, and I feel like that’s important, going into basic training, you wake up early, you follow orders, you get the discipline you need, and that goes into sledding… So I feel like transitioning from basic training to being disciplined also means knowing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.”

Jones’ praise for representing Team USA came as other U.S. Olympians in Italy publicly criticized their country. Team USA athletes Hunter Hess, Amber Glenn and Mikayla Shiffrin all made comments critical of the state of the United States while competing in Italy.

But Jones now joins the ranks of hockey players Brady Tkachuk publicly praises America and expresses its honor and gratitude to represent the United States in Milan Cortina.

Jones said she hasn’t looked at social media at all recently and was unaware of any criticism of her country from her Team USA teammates.

Team USA fans can send Jones and fellow pilot Kelly Curtis, who is also currently competing in Italy, wrote a personalized letter through a collaborative program between Team USA and Sadboxx.
