FBI investigating Fulton County’s handling of the matter 2020 electionAccording to a newly filed search warrant affidavit, alleged ballot irregularities and record-keeping failures are outlined.
FBI agents, who authored the Justice Department’s affidavit filed in federal court on Tuesday, described a wide-ranging investigation into missing images of ballots, inconsistent recount totals and chain-of-custody issues that fueled the president’s long-standing accusations Donald Trump and his base.
Physical ballots will be needed to determine whether the irregularities were administrative errors or intentional, Hugh Evans, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Atlanta field office, said in the affidavit.

Evans said the FBI investigation stemmed from a referral the bureau received from Kurt Olson, described as the Trump-appointed director of election security and integrity.
The affidavits were released after the FBI executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Fulton County Election Center and Operations Center in January and explain the probable cause used to justify the search warrant.
