Robert Irvine prefers alligators to LA traffic after ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Robert Owen “Afraid” Los Angeles After competing on “Dancing with the Stars,” he can’t wait to return to his native Australia.

During an interview with Fox News Digital at the NFL Honors, Irving admitted that he would drive the Gator in Los Angeles traffic any day.

“Oh my gosh! I learned to drive in America – it was the first time I drove on the side of the road in Los Angeles. That was the scariest part of the whole ‘Dancing with the Stars’ experience… just being on the road in Los Angeles,” Owen said.

Owen, who win season 34 The Dancing with the Stars star admits he loves the support from his American fans, but his heart will always be in Australia.

“Well, I think the thing is, I grew up in the wilderness in Australia, you know, the atmosphere in L.A. is very different,” Irving said. “But it’s also really amazing because I feel such an outpouring of support from all over the United States, and it feels great.”

He continued, “I’m excited to be home, but you know, it’s just as great to be back in the States and see all my ‘Dancing with the Stars’ buddies and all of that is very special. But Australia will always be where my heart beats and that’s where I’ll always go back.”

Last month, Irving told the west australian After spending several months in California on a dance competition show, he was “not a city kid.”

“It’s been great living in Los Angeles for the past three months, but I’m not a city kid. I lived outside in the bush and grew up there, so it feels good to be back somewhere with a little bit of greenery,” he told the outlet in January.

Robert grew up in Australia with his mother Terri and sister Bindi. The family followed in the footsteps of their late father Steve Irwin and preserved his work at Australia Zoo. Steve died in 2006 after being stung by a stingray at Butt Reef off the coast of Australia.

Irving returned to the United States to super bowl 2026. In a pregame interview with Fox News Digital, Irving explained why he brought a snake as a bonus to the game.

“Well, you know, it’s actually always been a dream of mine to come to the Super Bowl. So when they said come out and experience it, I was like, ‘Oh, 100 percent,’ but I have to bring a snake,” Irving said. “I mean, it just makes sense.”
