Uber to acquire Getir’s delivery business in Turkey for $335 million

Uber Technologies and Mubadala Investment Company have reached an agreement for Uber to purchase Getir’s delivery portfolio in Turkey.

Uber will first buy 100% of Getir’s food delivery business for $335 million in cash, without cash or debt.

It will separately invest $100 million for a 15% stake in Getir’s grocery, retail and water delivery operations.

The grocery, retail and water supply assets are expected to be purchased over the next several years, provided that specific operational and financial targets are met.

The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with the Food Delivery transaction expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.

If completed, it would bring Getir and Trendyol Go delivery operations in Turkey under Uber ownership.

In May 2025, Uber agreed to acquire a majority stake in Turkish food delivery platform Trendyol Go in a $700 million deal.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said: “With a thriving digital economy and dynamic consumer base, Uber is committed to investing in Turkey for the long term.

“By bringing these leading platforms together, we aim to support the continued growth of a vibrant and competitive ecosystem that delivers even more value for consumers, messengers and merchants.”

After the deal closes, Uber said it intends to bring Getir and Trendyol Go together to expand consumer choice, creating more delivery work for couriers and supporting restaurants and retailers.

Under the plans outlined, Getir users would continue to use the Getir Super App while having access to a wider range of restaurants currently available through Trendyol Go.

Meanwhile, Trendyol Go users could order groceries from Getir through the Trendyol Go app.

According to the press release, the deal would strengthen Uber’s continued investment in Turkey and mark the next stage in Getir’s development.

Getir CEO Batuhan Gultakan added: “This deal is an important milestone for Getir and is a testament to the strong operating model and leading brand our team has built in our home market of Turkey. We are excited to bring Getir’s ultra-fast delivery experience to the global Uber ecosystem as we continue to improve the experience for consumers, couriers, restaurants and retailers.”
