Teddy Mellencamp A year after she was hospitalized and required emergency brain surgery, she reflects on her cancer journey.

“One year ago today, I walked into the emergency room thinking I had a migraine and within 24 hours had surgery on a stage 4 tumor the size of a plum on my brain,” Mellencamp shared on Instagram. “Today I am anxious but grateful.”

“Thank you to the doctors and nurses who took care of me, to my family and friends who supported me, and to all the love you poured into me.”
She encouraged her followers to “trust your gut” and “get checked out.”

Teddi first revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in March 2022, and later revealed in April 2025 that her skin cancer Grow to stage 4 And it had spread to her brain and lungs. She underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her brain, and she said at the time that while removing the tumor, doctors ended up discovering more.

Later that month, scans showed her tumor was shrinking. One of the many debilitating effects she suffered during her cancer journey was her inability to speak clearly. Her recent performance on The Masked Singer has helped her in many ways.

“‘The Masked Singer’ did a lot for me because I was really, really sick before we shot the movie,” Teddy said. “I’m even seeing an improvement in my movements now… You can see, if you look closely when I’m singing, my hands are really shaking. And I’d forgotten how much I was shaking.
“And then when I saw this, I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I forgot about that,’ because when you recover, you forget, you only think about the negatives, not the positives. I thought, that’s a huge positive. It drives me crazy.”

She added, “I couldn’t write, like my hands were shaking so much that I couldn’t write. Now my hands don’t shake at all… You have to be grateful for these things because it’s happening, whether it’s happening in my time frame or not.”

Co-hosted “There are two T’s in a Pod” Join Housewives alum Tamra Judge soon as she celebrates her fifth anniversary at the helm of the podcast. Mellencamp told Fox News Digital that she is lucky to have a platform where she can have honest, open conversations with anyone.
“I’ve learned a lot from other people on the internet. You know, let’s be honest, I’ve had some hard times on the internet, like people come to me, like before, it’s constant,” Mellencamp said. “Now I would say, a lot of people come up to me asking if they should get tested, or dermatologists say people come in and say they got tested because of you, and every time that happens, I’m like, I’m so grateful that this happened to me because I’m able to share it with a lot of people, whether it’s my podcast or my TV show or whatever.”
“I want to share it with as many people as possible because you have to be your own health advocate.”
