Travis Head spoke on an informal podcast and shared his thoughts on his favorite batting, his T20 superpowers, the bowlers he wants to battle against and the bowlers he doesn’t like to face. His reaction was both shocking and funny.
Travis Head shares his thoughts ahead of T20 World Cup match
Head started by saying, “My name is Travis Head and I am the opening batsman for the Australian team.” When asked about his favorite shot, he said, “My favorite shot in T20 cricket is probably the pull.” The explosive opener then answered the question about the T20 superpower he possesses, “My T20 superpower? I can hit the power play.”

When asked about the bowler he would like to face or battle against, the batsman took an interesting jab and said, “Which bowler would I want to battle against? Abhishek Sharma.” The two cricketers are playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL). Since opening in 2024, they’ve changed the dynamics of the game’s shortest format.
Head doesn’t like to face Tim David
Talking about his T20 mantra, he said: “My T20 mantra is? Try and hit it as hard as you can.” before replying that the thing that excites him the most is watching Tim David bat. He once again had an interesting take on bowlers he doesn’t like to face: “One bowler I don’t like to face? I would say Tim David’s leg-spin drills.”
Travis Head also shared his thoughts on the off-spin shot that he could have played or had mastered, saying “I wish there was one? Maybe a off-spin shot.” He concluded: “My T20 game, all I can say, is crazy.”
Travi Head likes Indian conditions
Travis Head plays in a different style and his flashy way of playing sets him apart from other batsmen in world cricket at the moment. He will be crucial for Australia to win the 2023 ODI World Cup and has performed well in and against India.
He performed brilliantly in the recently concluded Ashes series, finishing with a maximum score of 629 runs at an average of 62.90 and scoring 300 runs in the series. The Kangaroos have the firepower to become T20 World Cup champions.
Australia has a different mentality in ICC matches
However, their batsmen need to take responsibility, especially opener Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh, as their bowling attack is relatively inexperienced, with Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood being ruled out of the game after suffering various injuries, putting up massive totals on the board.
Questions have also been raised about their poor form after losing 3-0 to Pakistan. But over the years, the Australians have had different physiques in the ICC tournament. They have shown the temperament and experience to win in major tournaments.
