Stephen Curry golden state warriors has been officially excluded from the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. Curry has been dealing with a right knee issue and missed the Warriors’ last four games. He is expected to be out until after the All-Star break.
With Curry out of midseason games in Los Angeles, NBA commissioner Adam Silver will have to choose a replacement. This is not the first time this season, as he has chosen Kawhi Leonard Fill out the American Stripes roster. He also selected Alperen Sengun to replace the injured Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the world team.
Thanks for your submission!
Since Curry is a member of the American Stripes, an American player is expected to replace him. That means players like Dillon Brooks, Lauri Markkanen and Josh Guiddy will be out of contention.

3 players who could replace Stephen Curry in the All-Star Game
#1. James Harden | Guard | Cleveland Cavaliers
At the age of 36, James Harden Still at an elite level. This season Harden averaged 25.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Most of his damage was done with the Los Angeles Clippers, but he is now a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers after the trade deadline.
Harden deserves some recognition for helping the Clippers climb from last place in the Western Conference to a potential playoff contender. He could have been a more popular replacement Stephen Curry If he were still playing in Los Angeles. If he gets drafted by Adam Silver, the All-Star Game at the Intuit Center will be an awkward one.
#2. Austin Reeves | Guard | Los Angeles Lakers
Despite missing most of the season due to injury, Austin Reeves is still playing like an All-Star. Reeves still averaged 26.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game despite only playing in 22 games.
There are no eligibility rules for the All-Star Game other than the Team USA vs. Team World dynamic. Reeves is an interesting candidate because he also played in Los Angeles for the city, although the game was at the Clippers’ home court.
Reeves has also been better than Stephen Curry at the start of the season compared to James Harden.
#3. Michael Porter Jr. | RT | Brooklyn Nets
After the Brooklyn Nets acquired Michael Porter Jr. from the Denver Nuggets in the offseason, many predicted he would have a breakout season. Porter was indeed a breakout star for the Nets, averaging 25.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.0 rebounds for a poor Brooklyn team.
While Porter has some value, he seems to be the perfect replacement for Steph Curry. If Pascal Siakam can become an All-Star for a weaker team like the Indiana Pacers, then MPJ may need to prepare for his selection.
