Epstein later pleaded guilty to 2008 Florida charges of soliciting underage girls for prostitution in exchange for avoiding federal criminal prosecution.

Wright was interviewed by the FBI in October 2019, two months after Epstein committed suicide in a New York federal prison after being arrested on child sex trafficking charges.

During the 2006 call, “Trump told Ritter that there was a time when he was in Epstein’s company where teenagers were present and that Trump left the place,” the summary said.

On Monday, Maxwell appeared virtually before the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating the Epstein case, but declined to answer questions, citing her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

Her attorney, David Oscar Marcus, said in a statement that Maxwell was willing to “speak fully and honestly” if Trump granted her executive clemency. Clemency could include a pardon, which would expunge Maxwell’s conviction, or a reduced sentence, allowing her to be released from prison earlier than scheduled.

“Only she can provide a complete narrative. Some people may not like what they hear, but the facts are important,” Marcus said. “For example, neither President Trump nor President Bill Clinton acted inappropriately. Only Ms. Maxwell can explain why, and the public is entitled to such an explanation.”

Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have been called to testify before oversight committees about Epstein. They are scheduled to be deposed there in late February.
