Everything was good, and many dishes were very unusual—for example, the toffee with rose petals, and the strawberry cheesecake crust with striations on the “crust.” The 10 different-flavored macarons are fresh, and I appreciate the breadth of truffle varieties, which include key lime, piña colada, and carrot spice, in addition to traditional chocolate. The sea salt caramel popcorn is not as crispy as it is stored on its own, but it does have a bit of a crunch. That was the only nit I had after trying at least one bite of all 47 items.
Overall, this is a very well-curated board with high-end sourcing (the caramels, for example, come from Portland, Oregon-based confectioner Wildwood) that I wouldn’t hesitate to send as a gift, especially since Boarderie’s overnight delivery is reliable. (Although my box arrived within 24 hours, it’s safest to order a day or two ahead if possible, to account for any unexpected delays.) Just be sure to know the status of your valentine’s food before sending it, and make sure they have plenty of friends or family to share it with.
