Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak has essentially confirmed that he will be the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders following his team’s victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60.
The Raiders have not confirmed the appointment, but it has been widely reported that the 10th and final head coaching vacancy of the offseason will be filled by Kubiak.
Cubbia said in a live interview after Seattle’s 29-13 victory over New England at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara National Football League Network: “You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas.
“I’m excited about it. Oh my God, yes, I’m going to do it. Of course, I’m going to do it.”
Kubiak is the son of former Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, who led the Denver Broncos to Super Bowl 50 10 years ago and won three more championship rings as an assistant coach during his career.
Clint Kubiak’s stock has soared after one season as Seattle’s offensive coordinator, where he produced the third-highest scoring offense (28.4 per game) and eighth-most offensive yards (351.4 per game) during the 2025 regular season.
“That’s the kind of guy Clint is. He’s a great guy, a very smart guy … I think he’s going to do great things in Vegas,” Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold said. His victory in Super Bowl 60 capped a remarkable career transition from being jettisoned by the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers to becoming a career backup and then leading the Minnesota Vikings and Seahawks to 14 wins over the past two years.
Seahawks star receiver Jaxson Smith-Ngiba said of his departing offensive coordinator: “Man, they (the Raiders) are looking for a special guy, a guy who understands the game, a guy who’s going to do whatever it takes to win.
“He’s an unbelievable coach. I’m honored to play with him this year. Just for him to get to know me and see who I am as a player and a person, it’s something special and I don’t take it for granted.”
“Wish him the best of luck. We’re going to miss him.”
Kubiak, 38, will be the Raiders’ third head coach in the past three seasons and fifth full-time leader since moving to Las Vegas from Oakland in 2020.
Kubiak will replace former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who had a legendary run with Seattle from 2010 to 2023 that included two Super Bowl appearances and a championship, going 3-14 in one season in Las Vegas.
After a dismal 2025 season, the Raiders have the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft and are expected to select Indiana quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza.
The Raiders have not won a playoff game since their last Super Bowl appearance in the 2002 season and have only made the postseason twice since then, most recently in the 2021 season.
Owner Mark Davis, frustrated with the lack of success, left the head coaching search to minority owner Tom Brady and general manager John Spytek.
