House Judiciary Committee member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has asked the US Department of Justice to return all of its communications with Apple and Google regarding the companies’ decisions to remove apps that share information about surveillance by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. “The coercion and censorship campaign, which ultimately targets users of ICE’s monitoring applications, is a clear effort to silence critics of the Administration and suppress any evidence that would expose the Administration’s lies, including the Orwellian attempts to cover up the murders of Renee and Alex,” Raskin wrote to Bondi. He was referring to Minneapolis residents Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were both shot by ICE agents. In two separate incidents, claims made by federal leaders about the victims and the circumstances of their deaths OPPOSITION through eyewitnesses or camera footage, echoes violent interaction and lies about them which occurred while ICE was conducting raids in Chicago a few months ago.
