The first Friday the 13th of 2026 is upon us, so why not spend it watching two of THE Friday movies?

On unlucky Friday, Regal Cinemas will screen the first two Friday the 13th movie theaters. With both over 90 minutes, it looks like Regal wants horror heads to watch them over and over again: io9 checked out a location where Friday Part I Screenings begin between 6 and 7:30 PM, and Friday Part IIof after 9 or 10 PM. Both films aren’t that long—135 minutes for the first, 137 minutes for the second—so it’s doable for those interested.

Neither of the two Friday the 13th The movies came out to great acclaim back in 1980 and 1981, but the original was more mixed than negative like its sequel. However, they both grossed a lot and returned their budgets: the first film earned $59.8 million, and the second earned $21.7 million. They may not be double features, but both movies are important today thanks to their central slashers, Pamela and Jason Voorhees.

A24 works on Crystal Lake is a lake prequel series for the Peacock. That show doesn’t have a date right now, though at Regal joke “something big” for November, with the only Friday the 13th during the fall. Whatever it is, Crystal Lake is a lake is the first longform piece of Friday media that’s coming out….for a while due to franchise rights issues, so that’s something fans can look forward to in the fall after these two releases have come and gone.
