Following the announcement of her big match, current AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander’s new name has been confirmed. Statlander mentioned the new name on Saturday’s episode of Collision.

Chris Starland Since September 2025, she has topped the AEW Women’s Division as the Women’s World Champion. She also successfully defended the title multiple times, defeating the likes of Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone and more during her reign. Statlander’s last successful title defense came two weeks ago at Dynamite, where she defeated Thekla.

However, Thekla’s assault on Statlander wasn’t over yet, as she attacked Statlander with a belt during last Saturday’s episode of Collision. Chris Starland Calls himself “Straland” Also challenge Thekla to a strap match on Dynamite. Tony Khan’s promotion confirmed Statlander’s new name, “Straplander,” while announcing the Women’s World Championship.

All Elite Wrestling announced via their official X account that Kris Statlander will defend the Women’s World Championship against Thekla in a strap match this Wednesday at Dynamite:

Kris Statlander to take on former WWE star outside of AEW

In addition to the AEW Women’s World Championship, Kris Statlander also holds the EVE International Championship. It was recently announced that Starander will defend her EVE Championship against former WWE star Charley (born Dakota Kai) on March 8.

In a recent promo, former Dakota Kai reflects on Statlander is her rival March 8:

“On Sunday, March 8th at Indigo O2, I’m in charge of my own story. And my opponent…someone I’ve watched over the years who never ceases to amaze me. Chris, you’re impressive, you’re strong, you’re a champion, but you’re now in my crosshairs. I’ll see you soon, Pro Wrestling: Eve,” Charlie said.

This will also be Dakota Kai’s first match since exiting WWE last year.
