Reactions from the Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX win

“Thank you San Francisco. You’ve been great hosts this week, but tonight is about the Seahawks and 12,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said.

The Seattle Seahawks handled the New England Patriots for a 29-13 victory in Super Bowl LX. This is the Seahawks’ second Super Bowl win and their first since 2013.

Seattle’s defense looked fierce in this win. They forced three turnovers and also scored a touchdown on a 44-yard interception return.

Running back Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl MVP, becoming the first running back to win the award since Terrell Davis did it in 1998. He had 135 rushing yards on 27 carries and another 26 yards through the air.

For quarterback Sam Darnold, this completes arguably the greatest redemption arc in National Football League history. After being labeled a bust following his departure from the New York Jets in 2021, he became a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown.

Wide receiver Cooper Kupp turned back the clock and had a great game. On a night when offensive player of the year Jackson Smith-Njigba was struggling and dealing with injuries, Kupp led Seattle with six receptions for 61 receiving yards.

In contrast, it was an underwhelming Super Bowl for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who missed open targets all night and accounted for all three of the team’s turnovers. Maye’s 79.1 passer rating was his second-lowest mark of the season.

After being defeated by Seattle, the Patriots now have the most Super Bowl losses in NFL history with six.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are back on top of the mountain after beating the team that bested them in the Big Game 11 years ago. They managed to overcome their demons and win Super Bowl LX by becoming arguably the best team in the NFL. They finished the season with a 17–3 postseason record and an average margin of 18.3 points.
