Newly manufactured EGOT winner Steven Spielberg has made some of the greatest foreign films of all time. He is also the filmmaker most responsible for the summer blockbuster. So, when the director of ET, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Jaws set to release an alien movie in the summer, expectations could not be higher.
That happened on June 12 at Revelation Day. Spielberg envisioned the story and directed the story of humanity learning that aliens do, in fact, exist. We have seen some of what that means in the first teaser trailer of the filmbut focused on the Super Bowl, we have more. Check it out.
While there’s a lot of new footage here, we’re still curious about the “Spielberg” part of it all. What is it about this story that made the famous director say, “Yes, I’m back to making foreign summer blockbusters”?
Revelation Day stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo. It opens on June 12.
