Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft missing out on the Hall of Fame may be the biggest news of 2026. The news sparked a tsunami of criticism, with the vast majority of fans and analysts disagreeing with the outcome of the vote. The snub has led some to call for changes to the voting process, including Randy Moss.
Moss, who played for Bill Belichick for more than three seasons, called for changes to voting rights in the Hall of Fame selection process. Moss was unapologetic about his call to action in X’s Sunday post about “Countdown to the NFL Playoffs.”

“One thing about not drafting Robert Kraft, not drafting Bill Belichick … going forward – I know this is going to piss some people off, but I really believe as a football player, if you don’t play football, if you don’t coach, you shouldn’t have a vote. I don’t care who you are, I don’t care how you feel about it.”

Kraft’s absence comes shortly before he accomplished the rare feat of reaching the Super Bowl in back-to-back eras with completely different lineups and coaching staffs. The only notable “holdover” from the Tom Brady era to the Derek Meyer era is offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
McDaniels tried his hand at head coaching during his time with the Patriots, but returned to the position he had been in for much of the Bill Belichick era.
Bill Belichick’s former team wins big at 2025-26 NFL Honors

Bill Belichick’s former team is one step away from winning a Super Bowl and taking home the Lombardi Trophy as it returns to glory, but New England already has several awards waiting for them when they return home from San Francisco.
Mike Vrabel wins Coach of the Year award, while Derek Meyer Won one of three awards for Player of the Year in the air and on the ground. Josh McDaniels won the Assistant Coach of the Year award.
A former Patriots star is also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Adam Vinatieri played for the New England Patriots from 1996 to 2005, with Drew BreesLarry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly and Roger Craig.
So Belichick and Kraft will need to chase Tom Brady’s early kickers with the next wave of Hall of Famers next year.
