Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Saturday that Tehran would “target American baseOne report said, “If the US military launches an attack in the area.
Araghchi said on Friday that indirect nuclear talks with the United States in Oman were “a good start” and that there was a “consensus” to continue talks.
Araghchi told Al Jazeera on Saturday that if Iran were attacked by US forces, “attacking US territory would be impossible, but we will target their bases in the region.” According to Reuters.
He reportedly added: “We will not attack neighboring countries; instead, we will target U.S. bases in those countries. There is a big difference.”

Regarding Friday’s nuclear talks, Araghchi said, “This is a good start, but whether it can continue depends on consultations in our respective capitals and deciding how to proceed.”
Omani Foreign Minister Badr Busaidi met with Iranian and U.S. officials on Friday. Oman’s foreign ministry said Busaidi held separate meetings with Araghchi and U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

“The consultations focus on preparing the appropriate conditions for the resumption of diplomatic and technical negotiations, while underlining their importance as the parties are determined to ensure the successful achievement of sustainable security and stability,” the Omani Foreign Ministry said.
