The Paris cybercrime unit raids the X office, concerned about deepfakes and protecting children online




Last week, the Paris prosecutor’s cyber crime unit raided the offices of X, formerly known as Twitter. It is part of an investigation into a number of alleged offences, including the distribution of fraudulent content and child pornography. Elon Musk and the company’s CEO have been invited to “voluntary talks” on April 20. We talk to Jean Cattan, co-director of the Institute for the Future of Technology about what’s driving France’s hard-line attitude towards social media companies.
