I first saw Jurassic Park one fateful day in middle school when my teacher rolled up a cart with a CRT television on top, put in a VHS tape and pressed play. I was instantly hooked and have since watched the film countless times, including a 2013 trip to see it in 3D on the big screen at my AMC theater.
Jurassic World: Rebirth came out in July 2025 as the seventh film in the franchise. With running times ranging from 1 hour and 32 minutes for Jurassic Park III to a whopping 2 hours and 27 minutes for Jurassic World: Dominion, binge-watching the franchise is a 14-hour-and-40-minute commitment. Or 14 hours and 54 minutes if you watch the 14-minute longer, 2-hour, 41-minute extended edition of Jurassic World: Dominion. But life, uh, finds a way. So if you’re like me and want to rewatch all the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies in order, here’s where you can stream the series.
How many Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies are there?
Based on my calculations, it would take 14 hours and 40 minutes to watch all seven of the Jurassic Park and World movies (not including popcorn and bathroom breaks). If you watch Jurassic World: The Dominion extended edition rather than the theatrical cut, that balloons to 14 hours and 54 minutes.
The Jurassic Park franchise consists of seven mainline films — the original Jurassic Park trilogy along with the Jurassic World quadrilogy. There are also two TV series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Here’s how to watch the entire Jurassic Park movie and TV show universe in chronological order by release date:
- Jurassic Park (1993)
- The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
- Jurassic Park III (2001)
- Jurassic World (2015)
- Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
- Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020 TV series)
- Jurassic World: Dominion (2022)
- Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (2024 TV series)
- Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)
Should you have watched the entire Jurassic Park franchise before Jurassic World: Rebirth?
I recommend watching the entire Jurassic Park series before Rebirth. There are many lines and plot points connecting the movies, including the Jurassic World expansion that elaborates on the themes of genetic experimentation from the original trilogy. The sequel to Jurassic Park, The Lost World, sees the return of Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and John Hammond (Richard Attenborough). Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) returns in Jurassic Park III.
Jurassic World revived the franchise in 2015 with action back on Isla Nublar — where it all began in the original film — this time with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard starring. Goldblum returns in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom alongside Pratt and Howard. Jurassic World: Dominion sits firmly in the middle of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World Venn diagram, with franchise stars Pratt, Howard, Goldblum, Neill and Dern making up the ensemble cast.
Although there is continuity throughout the series to varying degrees, the Jurassic World movies really build on each other. you CAN can skip Jurassic Park III if the nearly 15-hour marathon bites off more than you can chew — the film even takes place on a different island from the original, Isla Sorna. But Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom, Dominion and Rebirth are fairly interconnected, with critical world-building elements. So, although I recommend watching all of them, you should definitely watch Jurassic Park and The Lost World along with the Jurassic World flicks.
In addition to the mainline films, there are a couple of spin-off TV series: Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Both shows are canon and although you don’t have to watch them to follow the film series, it’s a plus, providing more franchises to explore for hard-core fans. Both Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory are available to stream Netflix.
