Arsenal vs Sunderland preview
Sunderland’s fine Premier League season faces its toughest test yet as they face the league leaders at the Emirates.
A Nice home win Monday night’s win against Burnley lifted the Black Cats to eighth in the table, while Arsenal beat Chelsea in midweek to book a place in the League Cup final.
Mikel Arteta’s side have set their sights on bigger prizes, however, and went into the weekend six points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
A 22-year wait for a title never looked any closer to being over but the Gunners won’t find it easy on Saturday.
However, the Regis Le Bris side made an impressive return to their home form. And Sunderland have never won in 16 Premier League away games against Arsenal (D5 L11), only visiting Liverpool more times without a victory in the competition (17).

Sunderland are without their captain and former Gunner Granit Xhaka but are otherwise at full strength.
