Even before the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup begins, Pakistan cricket has been making headlines, but mostly for the wrong reasons. They have threatened to boycott the much-awaited India vs Pakistan 2026 T20 World Cup group match on February 15 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Pakistan cricket has been in the spotlight due to the controversial stance taken by its government.

Babar Azam went through a tough time

Pakistan superstar batsman Babar Azam has often found his niche on social media platforms. A week ago, he struggled in a Big Bash League (BBL) match for Sydney Sixers. Despite the hype, the veteran batsman remains lukewarm with the bat in the BBL 2025-26 season, which is his first BBL season.

Like Azam, Mohammad Rizwan also struggled with the bat for Melbourne Renegades. In fact, Rizwan’s statistics are more prosaic compared to Babar Azam’s. A section of cricket fans brutally attacked them due to their embarrassing experiences with their respective teams. Amidst all the memes and trolls, a video capturing Azam and Rizwan went viral on social media platforms.

The viral video captures Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan as they warm up during training. The video is not clear enough. From this video, it’s hard to tell when the video was taken or which game they were preparing for.

Deepak Chahar brutally harasses Azam and Rizwan

Apart from Deepak Chahar, the Indian national men’s football team also mocked Azam and Rizwan in another video starring Team India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. There are several other football players in the video.

Deepak Chahar along with two of his friends watched Pakistan’s star cricketer doing his warm-up exercises. Chahal wrote in his caption: “Ab se yahi Warm up hoga” (Now, this will be the warm-up). The video also says “Start IPL preparation with legendary warm-up”.

Deepak Chahar to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar, after a brief spell with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), was retained by the team for Rs 925 crore and confirmed to play for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2026 IPL season. After leaving CSK, the swing bowler was picked up by MI to strengthen their fast bowling department, where he will play alongside Jasprit Bumrah.

Pakistan will participate in the 2026 T20 World Cup starting from the opening day of the tournament on February 7. In the first match, Pakistan will face the Netherlands. Babar Azam has been named in the squad while Mohammad Rizwan has not been included in the squad for the Classic.
