National Football League Fans have a lot to say about security chief Cathy Lanier and her comments about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) potentially appearing at the upcoming Super Bowl LX. This game is between the Seattle Seahawks and new england patriots There will reportedly be ICE agents at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Lanier denied that claim on Tuesday. She said there were no immigration enforcement actions related to the game during her availability.

Fans reacted to the update with derision. Many refused to believe Raniere and said she had no power over federal agencies.

When Lanier started running ICE, more fans raised questions.
“When did she take over ICE?” a fan question.
“It’s really not up to her or the NFL,” another fan explain.
“FYI – she doesn’t make the rules regarding ICE,” another fan explain.
While ICE’s operation is related to the Super Bowl, local and federal officials said federal agents will be in Santa Clara to ensure the safety of fans. Federal agents in San Francisco, Santa Clara and San Jose were there to support security at the event, said Jeffrey Brannigan, federal coordinator for the Department of Homeland Security.
Likewise, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie and San Francisco Police Chief Derek Lue have made it clear that local police will not be involved in any federal immigration enforcement.
Bad Bunny calls out ICE again ahead of Super Bowl 60
Bad Bunny, who will perform at Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, sent a message about Ongoing dispute with ICE during her acceptance speech at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens,” said Bad Bunny. “We are human beings, we are Americans. I know it’s hard not to hate right now. The more hate you have, the stronger the hate becomes. The only thing more powerful than hate is love. So please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”
