Glasgow rangersit feels like there are many more Premier League The title is up for grabs, with a splash in the January transfer window handed to the manager Danny Rohr Four new faces to bolster his Ibrox squad.

With the additions of Andreas Skov-Olsen, Toul Lomens and Tochi Chukwani, Germany striker Ryan Naderi arrived in Glasgow on deadline day for a reported fee of around £4.7m.

Different reports ahead of Monday’s deadline suggested the 22-year-old would only move on in the summer, despite the Gers’ push to move for him immediately, with the 6ft 4in striker scoring eight goals in 15 games in the first half of the season.

With Youssef Cermiti and Bojan Miovski having both managed just seven league goals combined over the past six months, the addition of a new center forward could prove to be a decisive factor in the title race.

Former Hansa Rostock player Naderi may be an unknown quantity, although Rohr already seems excited about the youngster’s potential impact on Scottish football.

What Rolle has said about Ryan Nardelli

Who doesn’t love an offensive player in left field? Well, Rangers will certainly do just that, with Naderi no doubt keen to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Hamza Igaman, two lesser-known gems who went on to bring dazzling brilliance to the Light Blues.

As mentioned, it’s been a fruitful season in front of goal for Naderi, who also dished out 5 assists and his game is more than just a tall target man.

Indeed, the former Borussia Monchengladbach second-team starlet often seeks to deeply influence games, with his style and stature prompting comparisons to compatriot Nick Woltmade, another unique striker who has worked his way up from Germany’s lower leagues.

That kind of resemblance Newcastle United spend £69m on signing already Rolle himself pointed outThe former Sheffield Wednesday boss revealed on Tuesday that he had spoken to Germany’s coaches over his deadline day arrival:

“I spoke to some coaches in Germany today and there was a lot of messaging and they compared him to former players Freddy Bobic and (Nick) Waltermade and in that direction,” he said.

“If he can bring that level here, then we’re going to have a lot of fun with him.”

That’s certainly a good sign considering Waltermade has made significant progress over the past 18 months, scoring 18 goals in all competitions in his only season at Stuttgart and adding a further nine following a summer move to Newcastle.

In Rohr’s view, Naderi is “the striker we need (up front)” and the fact that he has only played in Germany’s lower leagues should not count against him – as recent evidence from Rangers suggests.

Rangers have signed another Naderi this season

These big-money, high-profile moves at Ibrox have seemingly backfired this season, with Cermiti and Miovski yet to catch fire as expected after their respective sides. £8 million and arrivals of £4.2m.

Miovski, for example, has only scored four Premier League goals in his new home, while Cermiti has fared only slightly better than him, leveling with Emmanuel Fernandez’s surprise package of four goals.

The 6ft 4in centre-back, poached from Peterborough for a minimum fee of £3.5m, has been a bright spot since Rohr took over, having initially been relegated to the sidelines under Russell Martin.

Like Naderi, the 24-year-old has spent most of his career at the bottom of the football pyramid and spent last season playing in England’s third tier.

He has made just one appearance at EFL Championship level and, like Naderi, he represents a wildcard, risky catch that will undoubtedly make a real leap in performance for a club of Wanderers’ stature.

A monster in both boxes, Fernandes has started all of his last 13 Premier League games, losing just one, while keeping eight clean sheets in total.

In a sense, like Naderi, there is more to his performance than meets the eye despite his size, with his 88% passing accuracy also a sign of his ability on the ball, while his innate recovery speed was on full display in the recent late defeat to Porto.

He is really growing under Rohr and the transition from life in England’s third tier looks fairly easy. Hopefully Naderi’s own adaptation will be equally successful.
