governor of new york state Kathy Hochul Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman leads by more than 25 points among registered voters in this year’s gubernatorial race, according to a Siena Institute poll released Tuesday.
this poll finds Hochul leads Blackman 54 percent to 28 percent, a margin that’s little changed from December, while she maintains strong Democratic support and improves her support across the state.
The Siena poll was conducted among 802 registered voters from January 26 to 28 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.
“With ten months to go until Election Day, Blackman — who is largely unknown to three-fifths of New York voters — has her work cut out for her,” said Siena pollster Steven Greenberg. “Hochuur’s 79-8 percent lead among Democrats is significantly better than Blackman’s 69-15 percent lead among Republicans, and her lead among independents is 41-34 percent, as is every district in the state.”

Hochul is seeking a second full term and faces a primary challenge from Democratic Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado.

A Siena poll found Hochul’s job approval rating above 50 percent and showed her well ahead of Delgado, at least Democratic support rate reaches 60% In every region of the state, that includes 68 percent who call themselves liberals and 65 percent moderates.
Greenberg noted that while Hochul’s 49 percent approval rating is not high, it represents a seven-point increase since December and is the first time she has reached that level in a Siena poll in her four-and-a-half years as governor.
Blackman took aim at Hochul on Friday over his proposed ban local law enforcement Works with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on federal civil immigration enforcement.

“Kathy Hochul is the most pro-crime governor in the United States with a callous disregard for the safety of our communities and crime victims,” Blackman said. “By prohibiting local law enforcement agencies from partnering with ICE, Hochul is allowing dangerous criminals to return to our communities. This will end when I serve as governor.”
