China bans hidden car door handles after fatal incidents




China will ban hidden car door handles from January 1, 2027, citing safety concerns, phasing out the minimalist design popularized by Tesla. The new rules require doors to have internal and external mechanical unlocking and could affect global electric vehicle design as China asserts itself as a standard setter.
