Perez Hilton reacts to the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, from her home on Saturday, January 31. Authorities claim they believe the 84-year-old was abducted from his home rather than just walking away.
Members of a church in Tucson, Arizona, told Nancy Guthrie’s family on Sunday that she did not visit that day. Her family visited her home but could not find her before filing a missing persons report with authorities. Nancy was last seen at home at 9:30 pm on Saturday.
Perez Hilton shared his thoughts on the case on his website website, writing:
“today Show host Savannah Guthrie faces an unimaginable nightmare as authorities in Arizona reveal a deeply disturbing theory about what may have happened to her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since the weekend. The more details that emerge, the heavier the situation feels. “
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told reporters they believe Savannah Guthrie’s mother was abducted from her home. He urged neighbors and the community to review surveillance footage from their cameras and more.
Meanwhile, Perez Hilton further wrote:
“Right now, a family, a community and millions of people are watching from a distance, holding on to hope in the midst of something truly horrific.”
Authorities have reportedly been using drones, planes, helicopters, thermal sensors and infrared to search for Nancy.
What did the Arizona Sheriff say about the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother?

After Nancy Guthrie disappeared, Arizona Sheriff Chris Nanos declared her home a crime scene. He told reporters that although Nancy was over 80 years old, her mental state did not show any signs of wandering. He added that she was unable to walk normally for long, leading him to believe it was a kidnapping.
Nanos told reporters:
“Her intelligence lies in her. This is not a lost person. This is an older woman in her 80s who has some medical conditions that cause her mobility issues and it’s very difficult for her to move around.”
“I’ve been doing this for 50 years. I had a gut feeling, but yesterday it occurred to me… that she had been kidnapped… that scene convinced me that there was more than just a missing person. Today we still hope that she is alive… but you can’t ignore what you saw at the scene. Time is of the essence,” he added.
Nanos urged the community and Nancy’s neighbors to do whatever they can to help. They are also working with Savannah Guthrie’s security team but have not found any information at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, Savannah also released a statement on behalf of the family on Sunday, saying:
“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.”
Meanwhile, Savannah has two siblings: sister Annie and brother Camron. Nancy owned them together with Charles, who died of a heart attack when Savannah was 16.
