A well-known figure who has been with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) for over 15 years has officially left the company and will be leaving the company in a little over a week, according to an official announcement.
That name is none other than Hiromu Takahashi, who has been a mainstay in NJPW for a long time. He is best known for his time as a member of Los Ingobernables de Japon, a faction led by Tetsuya Naito who has past ties to Andrade, known as “El Idolo” in AEW. Hiromu Takahashi joined the promotion in his early 20s and was already a prominent figure in the company, dominating primarily the junior division. However, there appear to be no plans for him to move up to heavyweight, having won the prestigious Best of Super Junior (BoSJ) tournament three times in a row between 2020 and 2022, with his first victory coming in 2018. The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship was the defining title of his career.
Thanks for your submission!
NJPW has announced that the 36-year-old star will be leaving the promotion after 15 years, with his final appearance set to take place on February 11 at New Beginning in Osaka.
This appears to be a new era for Japan’s top company, and speculation continues that Takahashi will expand into the United States, whether early warning aircraft Or WWE, or wherever. Another seemingly famous name wwe-bound is EVIL, he is the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
Although Takahashi has not experienced heavyweight success, the fact is that he belongs to an era that has passed. With Kazuchika Okada away for some time and Hiroshi Tanahashi retiring, it looks like the company will continue to build on their rising stars.
