Ryan Naderi: Rangers sign striker from Hansa Rostock on deadline day, club seal January 4th Arrivals Football News

Rangers signed Ryan Naderi for £4.7m on deadline day.

The Ibrox club initially agreed a fee of £3 million for the 22-year-old striker in the summer.

However, following further talks with Hansa Rostock, a transfer was agreed – although the German third division club wanted to keep the player until the end of the season.

Naderi becomes manager Danny Rohr’s fourth signing in January, following the loan signing of winger Andreas Skov-Olsen and the permanent transfers of midfielder Tochi Chukwuanyi and left-back Toul Lomens.

After signing a long-term contract at Ibrox, he told the club’s website: “I’m really pleased this move has happened.

“Now that I’m here I plan to make the most of this opportunity. Rangers are a world-renowned club with a history of winning trophies and that’s what I’m here to do.

“I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates, all the staff and supporters in the coming days and weeks.

“I’m ready to get going and I hope to have a positive impact on the team for the rest of the season.”

Naderi began his career at his hometown club Dresden before moving to Monchengladbach in 2021. Following the deal, Rohr added: “I’m delighted Ryan has joined the team.

“He is still young in terms of his career but he has shown in Germany that he knows how to score goals and has contributed a lot of assists due to his high level of skill.

“He’s a guy with great potential and I’m confident we can help him take his game to the next level. We’ll help him adapt to his new surroundings and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in a Rangers jersey.”
