The Baltimore Ravens are hiring former assistant coach Anthony Weaver as their new defensive coordinator under head coach Jesse Minter.

National Football League Insider Tom Pelissero reports that the Ravens will reunite with Weaver on Monday. Pelissero wrote on X:

Reunion: The Ravens plan to hire Anthony Weaver as their defensive coordinator, sources said. Weaver, 45, spent four seasons in Baltimore, coached there for three seasons and interviewed for the head coaching job. Now he’ll be teaming up with Jesse Minter.

Weaver, who was drafted by the Ravens in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft, returned to the team in 2021 as defensive line coach and run game coordinator. Promoted to assistant head coach and defensive line coach in 2022.

The former defensive end reportedly interviewed for the Ravens head coaching job after John Harbaugh was fired in January.

Ravens continue coaching staff overhaul after losing 2025 season

Anthony Weaver’s hiring comes just days after the Ravens hired former players chicago bears Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle became their new head coach. Ravens coach Jesse Minter outlined what Doyle will bring to Baltimore.

“We are excited to welcome Declan to the Ravens,” Minter said. “As the architect of our offense, Declan will build around our players through communication, collaboration, relationships and trust.

“His innovative thinking, collaborative spirit, team-first attitude and extensive NFL experience make him an outstanding addition to the Ravens organization.”

After missing the playoffs in 2025, the Ravens are entering a new era under Minter.
