Dmitry Bivol’s hit list includes big rematch and fight with undefeated monster

Dmitry Bivol Revealed his ideal weight choice of 175 pounds while expressing his interest in moving up to lightweight.

The unified world champion has not competed since retiring Majority decision win over Artur Beterbiev In February 2025, when he got his revenge and became the undisputed light heavyweight king.

Soon after, a lengthy back surgery and recovery meant he was forced to relinquish the WBC title rather than fight for the title against then-mandatory challenger David Benavidez.

As a result, Benavidez is now the official WBC champion, while Bivol now has to fulfill his mandatory IBF obligations and is expected to return to fight Michael Evert later this year.

But while Eifert is a formidable opponent, especially after more than a year on the sidelines, Bivol also acknowledged that his most lucrative opportunity may come in late 2026.

One of those fights could be an undisputed showdown with Benavidez, who is number one Will clash with unified world lightweight champion Gilberto Ramirez in May.

In addition to this, the 35-year-old also told battle center tv A trilogy fight with Beterbiev or even a rematch with Canelo Alvarez, who he pointed to in 2022, could be possible options.

Perhaps more surprisingly, Bivol has also hinted at potentially moving up in weight, seemingly targeting lightweight world champion Jai Opetaia, Noel Mikaelian and the winner of Ramirez vs. Benavidez.

“Why not this year? (Benavidez) is an option for us. Benavidez, Beterbiev, you mentioned Canelo.

“Also, in the back of my mind, I wanted to move up to get a chance to fight for another belt in another weight class. It was better for my soul to move up (to lightweight).”

While speaking with members of the media, Bivol added that his scheduled matchup with Evert should soon be subject to a purse bid hearing.
